In a scenario where enough players are placed on assignment waivers that if all players cleared waivers, the total number of "Minor League Free Agents" on the Minor League roster would exceed the 20 player maximum. Will the system temporarily allow you to go over the 20 man limit and make cuts from there? Or does something unexpected happen?
Basically, I know I'm going to need to release players, but I'd rather wait and see what happens with waivers before making those release decisions if I can.
You can wait and see. Once the players clear waivers, they will land on your minor league roster. You will not be able to submit a new lineup if your minor league roster has more than 20 players in the Minor League Free Agent category.
